“Loving Island Life” Bainbridge Island Pumpkin Walk

Flyer for Bainbridge Gardens' 22nd Annual Pumpkin Walk on October 16th and 17th, 2015, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, featuring a pumpkin illustration.

After a long, hot summer, we at “Loving Island Life” are enjoying the crisp cool temperatures and festively colored leaves crunching under foot as fall settles in on Bainbridge Island.  It’s a season to enjoy Island traditions and reconnect with friends and neighbors at some wonderful local events.  Wondering where to go to join in on the fun?  Here is a list of some of our favorites.

For a non-scary, FREE, family friendly event, Bainbridge Gardens will be hosting the 22 annual Pumpkin Walk! It’s a two night event and this year the Pumpkin Walk will be held Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bainbridge Gardens. The proceeds of this popular, festive event benefit the Bainbridge Island Boys and Girls Club. For what to wear, where to park and other details visit Pumpkin Walk.

Take a walk through the Bloedel Reserve for a glorious burst of fall color!  The Japanese Maples and Katsuras are putting on quite a show right now.  Included with your admission is the reserve’s annual Super Squash Scavenger Hunt.  It runs the entire month of October and children will be given a special map to help them find all the hidden squash around the grounds. Visit the Bloedel Reserve Web Page for more fall events.

“Loving Island Life” would like to remind you that the Farmer’s Market is still going strong!  You can still get your fill of fresh vegies, flowers, cheese, music, gallery quality art and so much more.  It’s been a bountiful summer on the island, and it’s a great opportunity to eat fresh and eat local.  This year the Farmer’s Market has been extended to December 19th!  Need more information?  Go check out their web page here.

Finally, the 11th annual HOWL-o-ween  is not to be missed at our own magical Islandwood! On Sunday, October 25, 2015 - 1:00pmto 4:00pm you can enjoy pumpkin carving, contra dancing, a boneyard dig, fortune tellers, stories, songs and art.  The folks at Islandwood go above and beyond to make this a wonderful event for all ages.
