“Loving Island Life” August on Bainbridge Island

A ferry sails on calm waters against the backdrop of a towering snow-covered mountain under a cloudy sky.

Well, friends, we’re more than half way through August already! Another fabulous summer is coming to a close, and we at “Loving Island Life” hope you have been able to make some wonderful memories here on Bainbridge Island. We think summers on the island are very nearly perfect, and we’ve enjoyed running into both old friends and new at the farmer’s market, the Grand Old 4th celebrations, street fairs, and wineries. With gentle temperatures and sunny days, that fun is sure to continue into fall.

If you are new to the island, or just visiting, Bainbridge Island has activities for just about any interest, whatever the season. Just a few of our activities include art galleries and museums, concerts, Eagle Harbor Books – the most wonderful local bookstore, Esther’s Fabrics – the oldest fabric store in Washington State, and many local shops selling unique and beautiful things. We have kayaking, hiking, biking, and sailing for outdoor enthusiasts. Be warned, the island will steal your heart, and when it does, we’d be happy to help you find your perfect island retreat!

Here are just a couple of ideas for getting to know the island, and maybe making some new friends!

The Bainbridge Island Historical Museum is once again sharing the history of Port Madison, our island’s first settlement. The island has a fascinating history, and this event is a great place to begin exploring.
