“Loving Island Life” Bainbridge Island Rotary Auction!
This week ushered in the official start of summer, and we at “Loving Island Life” are enjoying long days, the gorgeous flowers blooming all over the island, and seeing the school kids out giggling and chatting over their first taste of summer freedom at the local ice cream and yogurt shops. Summer is a very busy season on Bainbridge Island, and we will do our best to keep you up to date on all the fun island traditions and activities that are coming up.
First on the list is the 56th annual Rotary Auction. Starting this Saturday, June 24th you can drop off your gently used donations for Bainbridge Island’s largest community fundraiser. “We accept just about everything including antiques, books, clothes, tools, autos, boats, electronics, furniture, fine art, toys, pet supplies, sporting goods, lawn & garden and power equipment, cameras and home decor.” Last year, the Rotary Club made over $481,000. 100% of the proceeds are donated to: Grants to local nonprofit organizations, Large-scale community projects, International humanitarian projects, Community service and vocational scholarships, other worthy causes. Next, reward yourself for all that clearing out with an evening of great music at the Bloedel Reserve’s Summer Kickoff Concert. The concert will feature two acts: Ethan J Perry & The Remedy Band and Duke Evers. “Enjoy fresh air and the beautiful natural setting of Bloedel, while listening to the vibrant sounds of live music from two fantastic Pacific Northwest bands.
