Life on Bainbridge | January 2019
A new year has begun and the island is humming with activities for all ages! From a traditional Japanese tradition and live music to a book fair benefiting animals and an event with therapy dogs, the island truly offers something for everyone.
January 5th | Mochi Tsuki | 11am -3pm
Celebrate Bainbridge Island’s 30th annual Mochi Tsuki. The traditional Japanese gathering will be hosted at the Woodward Middle School, a new venue that can accommodate more guests.
January 6th – 19th | Heyday Farm House Events
This month Heyday Farms is hosting three events: A Sunday Supper on January 6th; a Cider Dinner with Finnriver on January 17th; and an Egg-cellent Cooking Class on January 19th. See details on their website.
January 17th | R.E.A.D. to a Dog | 4pm – 5pm
The Kitsap Regional Library on Bainbridge Island invites children to practice their reading skills by reading to therapy dogs. The recurring event will also be held on February 21st.
January 20th | Public Site Tour at Islandwood | 1pm – 4pm
Explore the magic of Islandwood at an afternoon site tour. The three hour walk will highlight the ecologically diverse campus and educate you about their onsite buildings and programs.
January 23rd | In-Store Book Fair: PAWS | 4pm – 6pm
Eagle River Book Company will be donating 20% of sales to PAWS of Bainbridge and North Kitsap during a two hour in-store book fair. Shop to support local animals in need!
January 31st | Jazz Jam | 7pm
The Treehouse Cafe is closing January with a Jazz Jam. Enjoy live jazz standards and, if you’re feeling courageous, you can even join in the fun onstage!
