News from the Boatyard, 5/5/12

May 5, 2012. Bainbridge rowers win big on Opening Day. The mixed Masters 8+, shown above, won their event with open water over second place Corvallis RC. Left to right: Mark Olason, Brandon Fleet, Chrys Hansen, Carrie Holloway, Jane Stewart, Rachele Turnbull (cox), Kate Berry, Kurt Frost, and Callie Sheehan.

The Junior girls school/varsity 8+ — Maia McNett (cox), Bryn Olason (yes, daughter of Mark, above), Ena Nimb, Hanna Christoffersen, Bridget Sloat, Katrina Kerrigan, Elisabeth Chun, Isabel Vassiliadis, and Lena Goss — also won gold in a tighter race, finishing with a good half a boat length over second place Mount Baker.

Juniors
Congratulations, Juniors, for a terrific performance at the Brentwood regatta April 27-29 and to the girls Varsity that won the High School event on OPening Day in Seattle. First ever Brentwood gold medals — two of them! — several other medals, some close finshes. PLUS an 8th place team finish on total points and 4th place finish for efficientcy points! Way to go. Good luck at Regionals!
