It’s hard to believe, but we’re already half way through October, and that means it’s time to start planning for an island style Halloween!  Do you have your costume ready?  We at “Loving Island Life” want to make sure you know about our very special Downtown Winslow Halloween celebration.  It’s a safe and friendly environment for some old fashioned family fun. Winslow Way will be closed to vehicle traffic on October 31st starting at about 3:30. From 4 to 6pm everyone from adorable infants to our vibrant seniors will be dressed to thrill as we all enjoy spooky tunes, free hot cider and trick-or-treat bags that our local businesses provide for costumed kids. It’s another uniquely Bainbridge event that you won’t want to miss!

Did you know that Bainbridge Island has its own film festival?  This year the festival is on October 24th and 25th.  Saturday is the opening night celebration with a party at BIMA including films followed by Q&A. Sunday there will be films throughout the day from 10:00am to 9:00pm at the historic Lynwood Theater. Here is a description from the Arts and Humanities website.  Tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss out this fun event!

“The Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival is an island tradition. For 17 years, Arts & Humanities Bainbridge has presented the festival to welcome both established and aspiring filmmakers and to showcase their work in the Bainbridge community and beyond. The wealth of stories the festival brings to life each year is unique to the island, whether they were shot on the island, tell an island story, or feature a Bainbridge Islander in the cast, crew, or production.”

Hope to see you all out enjoying this brisk and colorful autumn!
