“Loving Island Life” Hitchcock Restaurant

Wooden sign on a brick wall with the text "Hitchcock est. 2010" carved into it.

This week’s “Loving Island Life” Blog features Hitchcock Restaurant located in downtown Winslow on Bainbridge Island. The Hitchcock website describes the restaurant as “Local food, brought organically to the table by the farmers, foragers & fishermen of the Pacific Northwest.  Apple wood-fired oven, handmade pasta, and charcuterie smoker.  Craft cocktails, carefully selected wine & beer served on a reclaimed bowling alley lane.  Cozy booths, antique banquettes, hundred year old floors.  To celebrate over a century of Bainbridge Island family history, Hitchcock offers intimate, convivial dining that warms the body and nourishes the soul”.   This description is absolute perfection!  What I love most about Chef Brendan’s creations are his fresh carefully selected local ingredients that he pairs perfectly with sides and seasonings.  Last night we ordered a half dozen oysters and they were delicious.  Then some friends sat down so we ordered another half dozen but these were different.  They were served with a touch of ginger.  It was like a perfect oyster with a burst of sunshine!  Chef Brendan creates these amazing pairings that can only be described as extraordinary!  Be sure to check out his terrific deli next door for lunch, deli meats or treats.  If you live on beautiful Bainbridge Island, Seattle, or anywhere for that matter you owe it to yourself to dine at Hitchcock. This is absolutely a “Loving Island Life” kind of place.
