“Loving Island Life” Island Cool

The weeks “Loving Island Life” blog features “Island Cool,” a new frozen yogurt shop located at Lynwood Center on Bainbridge Island.  The owner Joe Raquer took the time to give us a complete tour and details of how the operation works.  Raquer’s yogurt comes from YoCream, an Oregon-based manufacturer, which sends the yogurt, frozen to Island Cool.  Joe stores the yogurt frozen until a few days before he needs it, when he moves it to the refrigerator for thawing. From there it gets poured directly into one of the built-in dispensers, from which customers serve themselves.  You then get to select from his amazing toppings that run from the traditional to a unique array of fresh fruits.  The various yogurt flavors combined with the delectable topping can only be described as Extraordinary!

The location is perfect with inside seating including a cozy fireplace.  There is also plenty of outdoor seating amongst the whimsical fountains and artwork of Lynwood Center.  Island Cool is definitely a “Loving Island Life” kind of place!
