“Loving Island Life” Mothers Day on Bainbridge
May has arrived on Bainbridge Island with abundant sunshine, longer days, unpredictable weather (layers!), and that underlying feeling that summer is just a breathe away! We are indeed “Loving Island Life!”
As we go about our days on the island, one of the things we notice is what great kids we have in our community. We want to wish a happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and grandmothers out there who invest so much of themselves into the well-being of their families. We salute you! Here are a few suggestions for ways to celebrate Mom on the island.
Start early with Girl’s Night Out in downtown Winslow.
Thursday, May 7, 2015 – Noon to 9:00pm
After party with raffle at San Carlos 9:00 – ?
Get ready to paint the town pink with an afternoon and evening of special discounts and events as Girls’ Night Out returns to Downtown Bainbridge.
Your GNO swag bag is your ticket and can be purchased for $10 at Eloisa’s, Sweet Deal, Blinx, or Island Renew Day Spa. On May 7, bring your bag into participating businesses between noon and 9 p.m. to enjoy special offers and in-store promotions. Buy your swag bag before 5 p.m. for “bonus swag.”
This year, 20% of the proceeds from your swag bag purchase will be donated to Arms Around Bainbridge, a nonprofit that supports members of the Bainbridge Island community facing overwhelming financial and emotional burdens associated with serious illness.
For every $10 you spend at a participating GNO business, you will receive a pink strand of beads redeemable for a raffle ticket. Turn in your beads at the GNO booth on Winslow Way between 12:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. or at San Carlos between 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. The GNO raffle drawing will be held at the San Carlos after party, but you need not be present to win. Results will be posted on Facebook.
Eagle Harbor Books will join in the fun with a bevy of romance authors on hand throughout the afternoon to sign their books and chat about their favorite reads.
