“Loving Island Life” Thanksgiving on Bainbridge Island

A ferry boat sails across a calm body of water at dusk, with silhouetted mountains in the background under an orange sky.

November is one of our favorite months here at “Loving Island Life.”  The Island in November is cool and crisp, perhaps a bit more invigorating than we’d have liked so far this year!  Everywhere we look we witness nature’s wondrous display of colorful foliage. November is the calm before the whirlwind of the holiday season.  Best of all, it’s a time to pause in our busy lives and consider all that we have to be thankful for.

Family, friends, warm places and good food surround us, and we are truly thankful.  We are also very thankful for those who serve us and our country in the armed forces, we wish them a peaceful Thanksgiving and we pray for their safety.

Our clients mean the world to us, so many of you have become good friends and we are thankful that you have trusted us to help you find that perfect place to come home to.  We love that you have become part of this wonderful community, and we love seeing you out and about around the island.  May you have many things to be thankful for in the year to come, we wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Now, what to do with those visiting friends and relatives?  That’s never a problem on Bainbridge Island.  The Thanksgiving weekend is full of fun activities for all ages.

A group of runners, some in costumes including a pie, a caveman, and an elf, participate in a snowy race, each wearing numbered bibs.

Saturday, November 29th, is the Downtown Holiday Open House.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to support our local businesses, take care of some holiday shopping, and kick off the season Bainbridge Island style! It’s fun for the whole family with FREE horse drawn carriage rides from 1 – 3:30 pm.  Meet in front of Bainbridge Family Eye Care for this fun holiday tradition.  Warm up after the ride with FREE hot chocolate at the Winslow Mall from 1 – 6 pm.  End the day with Santa and his elves for the Community Tree Lighting from 5:30 – 7 pm.  Enjoy holiday music by the BHS Band, and the Figgy Pudding Peddlers.  We’ll hope to see you there!

Three people, dressed in a heart costume, a turkey costume, and a gingerbread man costume, are walking outdoors during an event, each wearing a numbered race bib.
