The Madison Diner

This week’s “Loving Island Life” Blog features The Madison Diner on Bainbridge Island.  One of my favorite things to do after a morning walk or run is to head out for a REAL breakfast.  I love food and breakfast is at the top of my list.  On the recommendation of my fabulous web master, I was told to try the Madison Diner as it had changed ownership and the food was described as terrific.  So, after a 5 mile walk in the woods with my husband and Max (our 10 month old standard poodle) we headed for the Madison Diner.  On a Friday at 10am the parking lot was full and the gleaming 50’s era Diner was humming with activity.  When we walked in the door we were warmly greeted and you could just feel the positive energy.  The menu has something for everyone and I knew exactly what I was going to have…  Perfectly poached eggs, crispy hash browns, a flaky, homemade biscuit and seriously tasty sausage with sides of firm, ripe tomato slices and savory, chunky sausage gravy.  Everything that went by our table looked amazing!  Perfect breakfast’s with just the right gourmet flair that was not overdone.  Service was extraordinary and super friendly and I just love the interaction from the line chefs, who we watch as they perform a choreographed dance whilst creating masterful, decadent, homey delights.

If you live on the Island, Seattle, or anywhere for that matter, you owe it to yourself to drop in to The Madison Diner for an outstanding dining experience, service with a smile and hometown folks enjoying the wonderful ambience created by the new owners, Cyndi and Brian Moody.   Cyndi and Brian have only owned this historic treasure since May of last year, but THIS year, they were already awarded “Best Breakfast on Bainbridge Island.”  What an accomplishment, and congratulations Cyndi and Brian! The Madison Diner will not disappoint and is truly a “Loving Island Life” kind of place!
