“Loving Island Life” Town & Country Market Remodel

Rumors of Bainbridge Island’s trusty if a bit rusty Town & Country Market getting a facelift have rippled along the Island grapevine for quite some time. But today, May 2, Town & Country Markets CEO Bill Weymer called Inside Bainbridge from an annual industry convention in Dallas to confirm that preliminary plans are moving forward with a remodel for which, Weymer said, “They are driving toward a 2013 completion.”

Weymer, who will be issuing an official press release about the remodel intention next week, emphasized that the planning is in a preliminary stage at this point. The intention to remodel was just announced to staff in their most recent internal newsletter, and employees were invited to begin giving their input about what they would like to see in a new design.

Weymer said he is aware of the important legacy of T & C in Winslow: “We appreciate that store being part of the downtown Bainbridge community.” To that end, he and his management will be actively seeking community input about the remodel design, most likely through public meetings and the store’s website.
