“Loving Island Life” Weekend Events

One of Bainbridge Island’s most widely known and loved weekend events is coming up on February 26th.  It’s the annual Chilly Hilly Bike Ride.  Why are we telling you about it now?  Because it’s chilly, and it’s hilly, and practicing might be a great idea.  As always, our awesome Classic Cycle bike shop has you covered with some warm-up rides, and the first one is this Sunday.  Here is some information from their latest newsletter with all the information you need to get inspired and get out on the road with your friends!

Classic Cycle

740 Winslow Way E

206-842-9191

“Sunday, January 29th and Sunday, February 12th:
This is a great place to start for those of us who are new to the Chilly Hilly ride or for those of us who have yet to get out on our bikes this winter. We’ll ride about 20 miles of the Chilly Hilly loop. The good news? We’ll stop for treats and we’ll skip two of the hardest hills on the route! The pace will be a very doable 12 – 14 mph and Jaime will bring up the rear and provide moral support (actually, she’ll need it more than anyone else!).

This is a great training ride for new/beginning riders who are comfortable riding on the road.

The rides will start in front of Classic Cycle on Winslow Way at 9:30am (take the 8:45am ferry if you’re coming from Seattle). Bring a few dollars with you as we’ll be stopping for coffee and snacks at the 16-mile point in Lynwood Center.

These training rides are free to everyone. Register for the rides by going to the contact page on our website here:

You can also go to the Classic Cycle Facebook page and say “Count me in” to warm-up 1 on January 29th or warm-up 2 on February 12th (or both).”

If you’re feeling a little more like something warm and cozy indoors, we have a few suggestions for this weekend that we hope you will enjoy.
