“Loving Island Life” First Friday Art Walk!

April is here, and it’s time for another First Friday Art Walk!

Stop by our new Sotheby’s office at 240 Winslow Way E this Friday, April 7th for wine (Karen will be pouring, so stop in and say “Hi”) and try something nice to munch while you enjoy art from the Island Gallery.  We are so pleased to be an annex for this fine gallery.  During April, 2017, Sotheby’s featured Gallery artists are, Pam SproulTom Johnson, Jacki Moseley, Renee Jameson, and Jen Till. Tom’s “ridge and furrows” fiber creations include large quilt size wall hangings and pillows. Jacki’s felt creations range from shadow-producing wall sculptures to beaded bowls. Renee’s entrancing monotypes feature land-, sea- and sky-scapes.  Jen specializes in large, mesmerizing oil paintings. Clients wishing to purchase pieces exhibited at Sotheby’s should contact the Gallery.

This month, The Island Gallery has a perfect show for our long spring days, Lighting Up Spring. “One-of-a-kind sculptural illuminations that enhance daily living, made from wood and paper, steel and glass, for indoor and outdoor use.”  Follow this link to see some examples of the gorgeous works by artists Sean Carleton, L. Wendy Dunder, and K.T. Hancock.  Join them for the opening reception with the artists this Friday, April 7th, 6-8pm.

Also of note, The Island Gallery now has a blog.  It is, of course, a feast for the eyes, and is the best way to keep up with all the current shows, more information about the artists, and news about upcoming shows and events so you won’t miss a thing.

Downtown Bainbridge has so many wonderful shops and galleries displaying a wide range of artistic styles, truly something for everyone.  Start at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and cruise down Winslow Way, be sure to stop in at Roby King, Plum, Blackbird Bakery, Bainbridge Arts and Crafts, and Danger just to name a few.

Hope to see you out an about downtown this Friday!
